Aloha, AMS Families!
This is the final “The Middle Years” Newsletter for the 2020-2021 school year!
As we wrap up the last few days of school, there are a few things we’d like to point out:
Wednesday, May 19th – Check out our POETRY SLAM! This is an event you won’t want to miss!
Monday, May 24th – COVID Vaccination Clinic at AMS. You should have received an email from Vice-Principal Jeann Williams detailing this event.
Monday, May 24th: ‘A’ Day – No classes for at-home students. Please wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes, and bring a water bottle, your yearbook, and a pen.
Tuesday, May 25th: ‘B’ Day – No classes for at-home students. Please wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes, and bring a water bottle, your yearbook, and a pen.
Wednesday, May 26th – All 7th grade day! Wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes, and bring a water bottle, a shirt to tye-dye (an old uniform shirt is ok!), and money for food. (Nachos, Cup ‘o Noodles, Ice Cream, and Kona Shave Ice will be available for purchase.) We’ll have lots of fun to celebrate our students’ hard work this year!
Thursday, May 27th – All 8th grade day. Per DOE policy, there will be no in-person promotion ceremony planned for our students. But we have plans in the works to make this a memorable day! Wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes, and bring a water bottle, a shirt to tie-dye (an old uniform shirt is ok!), and money for food. (Nachos, Cup ‘o Noodles, Ice Cream, and Kona Shave Ice will be available for purchase.) We’ll have lots of fun to celebrate our students’ hard work this year!
Friday, May 28th: Last day – abbreviated online classes.
Yahoo! Thanks to your generosity, Aliamanu Middle School raised $1,060 for the American Heart Challenge, ALL through online donations! Way to go, AMS Ohana!
If you are moving this summer, please notify our Registrar’s office so that we can begin to prepare the required paperwork. Withdrawal packets will be processed on a first come first serve basis. Our registrar’s office will be open throughout the summer to assist you with this process.
That’s about it for the month of May! Thanks for your support and encouragement, AMS families. You’ve helped make this a great year:)
