School Community Council (SCC):
SCC is a mechanism for the six role groups: students, teachers, parents, community members, non-certificated staff, and an administrator to give input and make decisions about the implementation of the school’s vision and mission (purpose). SCC meets monthly during 1st semester and as needed during 2nd semester in the Administration Building.
Parents and other adults are invited to help on our campus. Some areas that need assistance are fundraising, school improvement service projects, tutoring, duplicating papers, chaperoning field trips, dances and activities. Parents are also needed to be on committees. Parents who work during the day can help the school by joining PTSO or SCC and taking an active role in the discussion process. Call the PCNC at 421-4100 to volunteer.
Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) Membership:
$5.00 per family. PTSO funds are used throughout the year to help subsidize the student planner, student sports, club programs, special PTSO sponsored functions and various campus needs. Projects are selected on the basis of impact on the student body. The students have two representatives on the Board. All students and parents are invited to join PTSO and get involved in improving AMS.
